The state park remained closed to the public for a second day on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

The fox was behaving erratically, the state Department of Environmental Protection said.

“New Jersey Fish and Wildlife is taking steps to address the situation, the DEP said in a statement, saying the park was closed out of an "abundance of caution."

The park is located in Lacey and Berkeley townships in Ocean County.
